Updates: 2021 July 29th, 2020

Dear Parents:

We hope this email finds you well.   Thank you for your patience and understanding regarding the 2020-21 school year for the Georgia Pre-K class. Communication to program providers has been slow, however last Friday, we were provided additional guidance from the state regarding the operation of Georgia Pre-K classes during the current health situation.  Georgia Pre-K classes were offered three models for opening: full distance learning, a hybrid option, and traditional in-person instruction.

Due to the rapidly changing environment and after much deliberation, we have made the decision to implement a hybrid model for the first nine weeks of school.  This means that the class will be split into two cohorts that will come to school two set days per week, and every other Friday.  Distance/virtual learning will occur on the days the students are not in school.  This will allow us to keep our classes small to reduce potential to illness, as well as to allow additional cleaning time.

We have taken stringent measures to reduce the changes of Covid in our program.  Along with the smaller classes sizes, we have intense screening procedures and increased sanitation and disinfection. All students and staff will be screened at entry .  In addition, we have partnered with Piedmont Return to Work program to test staff regularly.   Our sanitation and disinfection procedures include using an EPA-registered disinfectant to hospital disinfection standards, as well as a weekly professional disinfectant fogging of the classroom.

The hybrid model will entail a three-day rotation.  The schedule will be in-person on Tuesday/Thursday or Monday/Wednesday from 8 am to 2:30 pm, with Friday’s alternating between cohorts.  We will do our best to assign students their preferred in-person days, but cannot guarantee it.

Currently, we are planning for the first day of school to commence on August 26th.

While we understand the hybrid model will not work for everyone, we feel it is the best way to mitigate the risk for the students and staff in these uncertain times.  Please confirm by replying to this email if your student will attend the hybrid model Georgia Pre-K class.  If this model will not work for your student, please kindly let us know by July 24.  We will do our best to provide you with alternate Pre-K programs that may offer traditional in-person instruction.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us via email or phone.

Hybrid Pre-K Pods Additional Care Option for $500 per month 7-3:00 pm.

A solution LLIP is a part-time pod for hybrid students that need additional care.  Students could join a small pod of students that would follow the GA Lottery Pre-k curriculum with a face to face instructor in a separate room from the alternating in-person days.  For example, if your student participates in Monday/Wednesday cohorts, they could be signed up for additional pod care on Tuesday/Thursday.  The group size would be limited and  mixing with other  cohorts would also be limited due to Covid-19 protocol that encourage small group size and ease of contract tracing. If you would like to apply for the additional care, just fill the application or call for additional information.
