Our Story

Since 2008, Little Linguists International Preschool (LLIP) has been helping children learn, grow, and thrive. Families choose us because we provide more than childcare. We create warm, community-focused schools where every child is known and supported. With campuses in East Point and Decatur, LLIP offers small class sizes, caring teachers, and a language-rich program that prepares children for school and life.

OUR HISTORY

Little Linguists opened its doors in 2008 with a simple vision: to give young children the gift of play, language, and cultural discovery in a safe, nurturing setting. What began as a small, family-centered program quickly became a trusted choice for parents seeking something more than traditional preschool.

In 2013, the LLIP community helped co-found The GLOBE Academy, one of Georgia’s first dual-language immersion charter schools. Today, GLOBE serves hundreds of families across DeKalb County, a lasting example of our deep commitment to language immersion and educational excellence in Atlanta.

Seventeen years later, LLIP remains proud to carry that vision forward, welcoming new generations of children to learn, explore, and thrive at our East Point and Decatur campuses.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Children learn best when they are engaged, encouraged, and supported. At LLIP, our philosophy combines:
• Learning through play that sparks curiosity and problem-solving
• Language woven into daily routines, with Spanish immersion in all classrooms and Mandarin enrichment at Decatur
• Family partnerships built on communication and collaboration

OUR COMMITMENT TO QUALITY

Parents trust us because our programs are recognized for excellence.
• East Point: NAEYC Accredited and Georgia Quality Rated
• Decatur: Georgia’s highest Quality Rated distinction (3 Stars)

For families, this means highly qualified teachers, research-based curriculum, small class sizes, and accountability you can trust.

HEALTHY BODIES, HEALTHY MINDS

Children need healthy fuel for busy days of learning and play. Our in-house chef prepares balanced meals each day, with vegan options available. Whenever possible, food from our school gardens is added to the menu.

Meals are served family-style, with teachers and children eating together. This helps children practice independence, manners, and conversation, while building a sense of community.

LANGUAGE AT THE CENTER

At LLIP, children don’t take language class. They live it. Spanish is part of every classroom, every day. At our Decatur campus, children are also introduced to Mandarin.

Immersion strengthens memory, problem-solving, and creativity while fostering cultural awareness and confidence in communication.

PREPARING CHILDREN FOR SCHOOL AND LIFE

Kindergarten readiness is about more than ABCs and numbers. At LLIP, children build early literacy and math skills, social-emotional growth, independence, and curiosity.

Our teachers use the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS) and the Creative Curriculum to guide learning through play. Twice a year, families receive progress reports that highlight milestones and next steps.

By the time children leave LLIP, they are not only ready for kindergarten. They are prepared for lifelong learning - and along the way, they make lifelong friends and feel part of a true school family.
